Terms and Conditions
Last updated 30 October 2026
These terms apply to every quote we give and every order you place with us, for 3D printed parts and for custom design work. Please read them before you order. Some parts apply only if you're a consumer (buying for yourself, not for a business) or only if you're a business, and they say so.
1. About us
CraftMill3D Ltd is registered in England and Wales, company number 17420869. Registered office: 8 Broome Cottages, Spital Heath, Dorking, RH4 1QG. "We", "us" and "our" mean CraftMill3D Ltd. You can contact us at info@craftmill3d.co.uk.
You must be 18 or over to place an order.
2. Estimates and quotes
The price shown when you upload a file is an automatic estimate, not an offer. We check every request, and then send you a quote with the final price. A quote is valid for 30 days.
Our quote is based on the files and details you send. If you change them, or they turn out to be different from what you described, we'll requote before going ahead.
3. Placing an order
Your order is accepted, and a contract formed between us, when you accept our quote and pay for it in full and we confirm that we're starting work. We may decline an order, for example if a file can't be printed or the item falls under section 6. If we do, we'll refund anything you've paid.
4. Price and payment
Prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT where it applies. Delivery isn't included in the price: we'll tell you its cost before we send your parts. Payment is due in full before we start printing: when you accept our quote we send you an invoice, and your order goes on our printers once it's paid.
If we make an obvious error in a price, we'll tell you before we start and you can choose whether to go ahead at the correct price.
5. Your files and designs
You keep all rights in the files and designs you send us. By sending them, you confirm that you own them or have permission to have them printed, and you give us permission to use them only to quote for, make and deliver your order.
You are responsible for your design: that it's suitable for what you'll use it for, the right size and strong enough. We print what you send. Unless we agree in writing to check a design for a particular use, we don't do so.
If you're a business, you'll compensate us for any claim against us that printing your files infringes someone else's rights.
6. What we won't print
We won't print, and may cancel an order for:
- weapons, parts of weapons or anything designed to look like a real firearm;
- anything illegal to make, own or sell in the UK;
- copies of designs, logos or products you don't have the rights to;
- anything we reasonably think is unsafe or likely to cause harm.
Unless we've agreed it with you in writing, our parts aren't made or tested for medical use, contact with food or drink, or safety-critical uses such as load-bearing parts in vehicles or for climbing.
7. Our printed parts
We print with FDM (fused deposition modelling), which builds parts in layers. Visible layer lines, small marks where supports were removed and slight variations in colour between batches of material are normal and aren't faults.
Dimensional accuracy is normally within a few tenths of a millimetre, depending on the material, shape and size of the part. If a part needs a tight tolerance or a particular finish, tell us before you order and we'll confirm whether we can achieve it.
8. Custom design work
When we design a model for you, we'll agree the brief and price with you first. Once you've paid in full, the rights in the finished design pass to you. We may keep a copy so we can reprint it for you later.
9. Confidentiality
We keep your files, designs and project details confidential. We only share them with our production partner and where we need to in order to make and deliver your order. We won't show your parts or designs publicly, for example as examples of our work, without your permission.
10. Delivery
We deliver to UK addresses only. Once your order's paid and booked on our printers, your order page shows when we expect it to be ready. Our standard jobs normally take 3 to 7 working days, but timescales are estimates. If we're going to be late, we'll tell you. If you're a consumer and we're significantly late, you can cancel and get a full refund.
If you're a consumer, the parts become your responsibility once they're delivered to you. If you're a business, they become your responsibility once we hand them to the carrier.
11. Cancelling an order
Printed parts: every part we print is made to your specification, so the 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 doesn't apply to it. You can still cancel for a full refund up until we start printing. Once printing has started, we can only cancel if we agree to, and we may charge for the work already done.
Custom design work (consumers): you can cancel within 14 days of placing your order. If you've asked us to start within those 14 days, we'll charge for the work done up to the point you cancel.
To cancel, email info@craftmill3d.co.uk with your quote reference.
12. If something is wrong with your order
Please check your parts when they arrive. If anything is faulty, damaged or not what we agreed, email us within 30 days of delivery with your quote reference and a photo, and we'll reprint it or refund you.
If you're a consumer, the law gives you rights in relation to goods that are faulty or not as described, under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Nothing in these terms affects those rights. A part made exactly to your design isn't faulty just because the design doesn't work as you intended (see section 5).
13. Our liability
We don't exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to exclude.
If you're a consumer: we're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care. We're not responsible for loss that wasn't foreseeable, or for business losses.
If you're a business: our total liability for an order is limited to the price you paid for it, and we're not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business or data, or for any indirect or consequential loss.
14. Events outside our control
We're not responsible for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as a breakdown, a shortage of materials or carrier problems. If one happens, we'll tell you and agree a new date. If the delay is long, you can cancel any part of the order we haven't started for a refund.
15. Your personal data
We use your personal data as set out in our Privacy Policy.
16. Complaints
If you're unhappy with anything, email info@craftmill3d.co.uk and we'll do our best to put it right. We normally reply within 5 working days.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The terms on this page when you place an order are the ones that apply to that order.
18. Law and courts
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can deal with any dispute. If you're a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
